Statement of Faith
The
Authority of the Bible
We believe that The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God,
is without error in the original writings, and is the
authority for individual and corporate faith and daily
living.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that
the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good
work.
2 Peter 1:19-21 And we
have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you
will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining
in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star
rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no
prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own
interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the
will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried
along by the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 22:18-19 I
warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this
book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him
the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes
words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away
from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city,
which are described in this book.
The
Trinity of God
We believe in only one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1-2 In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the
earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface
of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the
waters.
Genesis 1:26a Then God
said, "Let us make man in our image…"
Mark 12:29 "The most
important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel,
the Lord our God, the Lord is one..."
Luke 3:22 and the Holy
Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a
voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with
you I am well pleased."
John 4:24 God is
spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in
truth."
John 5:23 that all may
honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not
honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
John 10:30 "...I and the
Father are one."
II Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Hebrews 1:3 The Son is
the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of
his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After
he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
The Ministry and Power of
Jesus Christ
We believe that
Jesus, Israel's promised Messiah, was conceived by the Holy
Spirit, was born of a virgin, being fully man and fully God
lived a life without sin, suffered, was crucified on a
cross, and rose on the third day. It is through His death on
the cross that He made atonement for all sin and those who
repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
will be saved.
Isaiah 53: 5-6 But he was pierced for our
transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his
wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid
on him the iniquity of us all.
John 3:16 "For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, [a] that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.
Romans 3:21-26 But now a
righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known,
to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This
righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ
to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that came by
Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,
through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his
justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins
committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate
his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the
one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
I Thessalonians 4:14-18
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe
that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep
in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that
we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the
Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen
asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,
with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and
with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will
rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are
left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord
forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.
I Peter 1:18-19 For you
know that it was not with perishable things such as silver
or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life
handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the
precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
I Peter 2:24 He himself
bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die
to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have
been healed.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed
and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.
The second death has no power over them, but they will be
priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a
thousand years.
The Ministry and Power of
the Holy Spirit
God the Holy Spirit is that Person of the Trinity Who
convicts men of sin, through grace forgives, saves,
indwells, counsels, heals, sanctifies, confirms, teaches,
guides, equips and empowers the believer.
Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty,
darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of
God was hovering over the waters.
John 3:5 Jesus answered,
"I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit..."
John 14:16 And I will
ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be
with you forever—
John 14:26 But the
Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my
name, will teach you all things and will remind you of
everything I have said to you.
Acts 1:8 "...But you will
receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Romans 8:9 You, however,
are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit,
if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
I Corinthians 6:11 And
that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were
sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I Corinthians 6:19 Do
you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own;
Ephesians 1:13-14 And
you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you
were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the
redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise
of his glory.
Ephesians 5:18-21 Do not
get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be
filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart
to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for
everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to
one another out of reverence for Christ.
